The MultiEncoder Module is a technological marvel, purposely designed for heavy duty electrical personalization of smart cards and capable of processing up to 3000 smart cards per hour. The MultiEncoder can be configured with up to 16 slots, dedicated housing that hold the smart card in place during the electrical personalization process. The SLOT devices are completely autonomous and independent and can operate in parallel. Data processing power is provided by a unique hardware layout that deploys multiple embedded PCs, an automation PC and a main controller unit with a graphic user interface. Issuers and Personalization Bureaus alike will immediately realize the immense cost effectiveness and flexibility the MultinEncoder brings to their operations. With Smart Card issuance poised for continued growth in the world, Issuers and Personalization Bureaus have to be ready for large scale issuance of EMV cards and Smart Cards in general (VISA Wave, Paypass).
One of the greatest advantages to the MultiEncoder is that it has been designed with a completely open and modular Smart Card application software architecture allowing development of applications and Smart Card personalization using Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE), based on a complete set of class libraries oriented to device management and data protocol and a set of templates for typical Smart Card chip (ISO7816, Mifare,iCode,…).
The flexible MultiEncoder Module can operate as part of a complex production line performing all the different aspects of the card personalization process (magnetic encoding, embossing, indent, etc.) in-line, or as a stand-alone module with a dedicated feeder and stacker. The MultiEncoder is a ‘must have unit’ by any Issuer or Personalization Bureau that is processing Smart Cards and the MultiEncoder will compliment their existing card personalization equipment setup regardless of brand or software architecture.
CIM designed the MultiEncoder to provide the market with an ‘open’, flexible and cost effective solution to personalize Contact and Contactless Smart Cards at high speeds. A typical EMV chip multi-application profile can take up to 30 seconds to encode on a commonly used device. The MultinEcoder will execute and complete the encoding process in approximately 2 seconds.
